đ How to Sign Up for Volunteer Spots on Crossbar
1. Go to tomahhockey.com
Start by logging into your account on the website.
2. Log into your cross bar account- if you donât have yet- create one.Â
(You may need to navigate using the Menu: Tap the â° menu button (usually in the left top corner).
3.Tap the arrow next to Participants where you see your players/family namesÂ
4. Click âVolunteerâ in the drop down (black circle with a white arrow
Navigate to the volunteer option that you want (woodsmen, open skate, HS game etc.)
5. Look for âMore Infoâ
Scroll down and tap the black More Info bar under the event youâre interested in
5.Pick a Spot
Youâll see all the open games and volunteer opportunities.
6. Sign Up
Tap the green + button next to a spot, then select your name.

Tomah Youth Hockey Association Work Hours Information
6Work Hours are calculated from Registration 2025 to Ice Takeout in May 2026. Hours are documented in no less than 15 minute increments.
Requirements: Parents are required to work 20 (10 hours for Cross Ice and 5 hours for Learn to Play Hockey) volunteer hours per family for the 2024 - 2025 Hockey Season. There will be a $20.00 per hour penalty for each hour not full-filled.
HS GAME/JR A GAME/.OPEN SKATE REQUIREMENTS: As part of the 20 Hour (10 for Cross Ice, and 5 hours for Learn to Play Hockey), each family must work 2 slots at Events (HS Game, Woodsmen Game or Open Skate). **This includes coaches - no work hours for coaching will be granted unless 2 work slots at Events are completed**
NEW Mandatory Hours:
Team Home Games â Will be assigned by the Team Representative
Team Home Tournaments â As assigned by the Tournament Director/Team Representative. Hours will vary per level.
Team Game/Tournament Hours: Families will be assigned to work their childâs team games by the Team Representative. It is mandatory that each family contributes to the scheduled home games and tournament. These hours do not count toward the work hour requirement.Â
It is each familyâs responsibility to keep their work hours up-to-date by submitting them as noted above. No submission, No Hours, No Exceptions.Â
How To Get Volunteer Hours
Tomah Youth Hockey Families can volunteer for any of the opportunities listed below to count towards their volunteer hour requirement. Hours will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
PLEASE ask a Board Member or your TEAM representative, if you have questions
1. Rink Cleaning (During your non-cleaning week)â It is important to maintain a clean facility throughout the season. Members are encouraged to clean the facility even on the weeks that your not required to. Cleaning is encouraged to be done at anytime something is noticed, even if it isnât your levelâs scheduled week. Cleaning supplies are located in the supply room off the warming area. Mopping supplies are located in the front cleaning closet and the zamboni room.
Below is a list of cleaning duties:
- Empty garbage cans throughout the rink and place full bags in the dumpster outside the rear entrance of the warming area.
- Wash tables in the concession area
- Pick up trash, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and mats in the warming area and in the arena. Clean the bleachers.
- Clean locker rooms (sweep, mop, empty garbage, etc.)
- Clean restrooms in the warming area, and by the locker rooms (Locker room D and Coach and Ref bathroom)Â (toilet, sink, sweep/mop floor, etc.).
- Clean glass in arena
- Pick up litter around the entrances and parking areas
- Shovel/salt walkways and entries as needed
2. Work a tournament or team game other than your own skaters- Concessions, Penalty box, Score Keeper, Time Clock, Zamboni
3. Work a State Tournament
4. Work a Jr A (Woodsmen Game)

5. Work a High School GameâÂ
  Tickets, Concessions, Penalty box, Score Keeper, Time clock, Zamboni
6. Assist with Rink Set Up and Rink Tear Down
7. Help with Registration
8. Work an Eventâ TYH golf outing, National Night Out
9. Work an Open Skate - Gate, Concessions, On Ice Supervision
